5. Newsletter and email provider: Kit
We use Kit, Inc., formerly known as ConvertKit, to collect and manage newsletter subscriptions, store subscriber information, send newsletters and free-guide emails, process unsubscribes, and measure email delivery and engagement where tracking is enabled.
Kit processes subscriber information on our behalf in connection with the newsletter service. Kit may use cookies, unique identifiers, web beacons, and similar technologies in connection with its forms and email services.
If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising, personalisation, or behavioural-tracking technologies, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide consent choices where required by law.
You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent some parts of the website or its forms from functioning properly.
8. External links, affiliate links, and embedded content
Inside Lapland may contain links to external websites, accommodation providers, activity providers, booking platforms, transport providers, retailers, restaurants, or other third-party services.
Some links may be affiliate links. This means that Inside Lapland may receive a commission if you make a purchase or booking after following the link. This normally does not increase the price you pay.
When you follow an external or affiliate link, the third party may receive information such as your IP address, device information, referring page, and information about your interaction with its website. The third party processes that information under its own privacy and cookie policies.
Articles may also include embedded content, such as videos, maps, images, social-media posts, or booking tools. Embedded content may behave as though you had visited the third party’s website directly and may collect information, use cookies, or track your interaction.
Inside Lapland does not control and is not responsible for the privacy practices of external websites or services.

We do not sell or rent your personal data.
10. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal data outside Finland or the European Economic Area.
Where personal data is transferred to a country that has not been recognised as providing an adequate level of data protection, the relevant provider is expected to use an appropriate legal transfer mechanism, such as:
- An adequacy decision
- The EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where applicable
- The European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses
- Another transfer safeguard permitted by applicable data-protection law
11. How long we retain personal data
Newsletter information
Newsletter subscriber information is generally retained while your subscription remains active.
If you unsubscribe, withdraw consent, or request deletion, we will stop using your information for newsletter marketing. We may retain a limited suppression record, such as your email address and unsubscribe status, where necessary to ensure that you are not accidentally added to the mailing list again.

Messages and enquiries are retained for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, manage any follow-up questions, maintain appropriate records, and protect our legal interests.
Technical and security information
Technical logs, security records, and backups are retained according to operational, security, troubleshooting, and legal requirements. Retention periods may also depend on the settings and practices of our service providers.
Information may be retained for a longer period where required by law, necessary to resolve a dispute, or needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
12. Your data-protection rights
Subject to the conditions and limitations of applicable data-protection law, you may have the right to:
- Request confirmation of whether we process your personal data
- Request access to your personal data

13. Newsletter opt-out
You can unsubscribe from the Inside Lapland newsletter at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter.
You may also request removal by emailing hello@insidelapland.com.
Unsubscribing does not prevent us from sending a non-marketing message where necessary to respond to your request or comply with a legal obligation.
14. Children’s privacy
The website and newsletter are intended for a general travel audience and are not designed to collect personal data from children.
If you believe that a child has provided personal data without appropriate permission, contact hello@insidelapland.com so that the matter can be reviewed and the information deleted where appropriate.
15. Automated decision-making
We do not use personal data to make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
